Medi-Weightloss® is owned by two ACHE Fellows, John Botsko and Jim Talano who are excited about extending their practice.

Jim Talano, Owner, M.H.A., FACHE
Jim received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University and his Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Jim is the co-founder and Managing Director of Southwest Florida Research, a research center of excellence for the administration of Phase II-IV clinical trials in pharmaceutical and medical devices, and he is co-founder and Administrative Director of the Southwest Institute for Cardiovascular Fitness and Treatment located in Naples, Florida. Jim also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Western Florida Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives as the Immediate Past President and Membership Director. He was also a founding Board Member and is currently a Mentor for FusionPointe, a venture development organization driving economic impact in the region by helping to increase the number of investment-ready companies.
Jim has had a diverse career that has spanned many facets of the healthcare field. He has held the positions of Director of Managed Care and IT Integration for Northeast Health Systems, an integrated delivery system located just north of Boston, MA. He was a manager with the Chicago office of First Consulting Group specializing in healthcare information technology and strategy consulting. He held the title of Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business Development for Medical Systems Management (MSM), a Boston-area-based medical software company, and then went on to become a Vice President with and later served on the Board of Directors of Picis after helping orchestrate the merger of Picis and MSM. Jim has since been involved in several healthcare-related entrepreneurial ventures and sold a home health and geriatric care management company in 2010 that he developed and grew through the acquisition and merger of two Naples-based companies.
Jim has lived with his wife and two children in South Florida, since 2004. He is a former collegiate swimmer for Northwestern University and currently swims with the T2 Masters Team. He is also a recreational cyclist.
John Botsko Jr., Owner, M.H.A., FACHE
John received his master’s degree in hospital administration and bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Indiana University School of Medicine. John Botsko Jr., FACHE, is president and owner of BrightStar Care, Bonita Springs, FL a Home Health Agency serving Naples and Ft. Myers, FL.
He also serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of 40,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems, and other healthcare organizations. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career counseling, publications, and research, ACHE works toward its goal of being the preeminent professional society for healthcare executives dedicated to improving health. Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Mr. Botsko served as an ACHE Regent for Florida—Northern and Western from 2011 to 2014 and was president of Western Florida Chapter, an ACHE chapter, from 2010 to 2011. He also served on numerous ACHE committees.
John has served in his current role at BrightStar Care since 2006. Prior to that, he was president of Executive Healthcare Consultants, Tampa, FL from 2004 to 2006. Before that, he served as regional director of operations at Horizon Healthcare in Tampa, FL from 1995 to 2004; CEO of Ft. Lauderdale, FL Hospital from 1994 to 1995; and CEO of Aspen Crest Hospital, Pocatello, Idaho, from 1991 to 1994. He also, serves on numerous boards and committees locally in Naples, FL, including the Parkinson’s Association, Indiana University Alumni Association board, chairman of the Indiana Society of SW Florida, and chairman of the Franchise Advisory Council for BrightStar Care from 2013 to 2015.
Jennifer Guthrie, MD, Physician
Dr. Jenn started her clinical career with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Towson University where she graduated cum laude in 2005. She then went on to receive a Doctorate of Medicine from Mercer University School of Medicine in 2010. She is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, American Cosmetic Cellular Medical Association, International Society of Sexual Medicine, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and American Society of Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Jenn had a life-changing, personal experience with the Medi-Weightloss® Program. Soon after graduating medical school and after the birth of her second son, she entered the program and lost over 80 pounds. Almost seven years later, she continues to maintain a healthy weight and active lifestyle!
Audrey Walters, ARNP
Audrey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern Methodist University in 2006, then went on to receive first a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010, and a Master of Science in Nursing in 2014 from the University of Miami, where she graduated summa cum laude. As a Nurse Practitioner prior to joining Medi-Weightloss® she independently operated a CVS clinic, where in addition to caring for sick patients, she provided counseling on good health practices including weight loss.
Audrey recently became a new mother. She is excited to be part of the Medi-Weightloss® team, where she can facilitate positive change in the lives of her patients.
Kim McDevitt, Medical Assistant
Kim has been a life-long resident of Palm Beach County and has had the opportunity to work in several area healthcare institutions over the course of her career including Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Boca Raton Community Hospital, JFK Medical Center, Jupiter Medical Center, and Jupiter Hematology Oncology. She is a certified Phlebotomist and is delighted to be part of the West Palm Beach location.
Kim has had her own weight loss challenges at different times in her life and thoroughly enjoys assisting patients through the transition to happier and healthier lives.
